My Pitch

Title:
Drummer Street
- Based of the busy street in Cambridge. I will also be able to get a shot of a sign with the name on it which I can include in the opening sequence.

Logline:
An unexpected death of a troubled teenage girl raises tensions in the community of Drummer Street. Questioning the means behind her death, a blame game begins. With the truth yet to be discovered, will personal stories start to form a bigger picture.

Genre:
Television Drama, Soap Opera,

Audience:
Aged 16 -25
Mainly attracts by females
B,C1,C2,E

USP:
Based in a well-known city and includes a diverse cast including ethnic minorities who will not be portrayed by their racial stereotypes. This is to focus on the portrayal of the teenagers and how some of their actions match the stereotypes associated with teens.

For example, there are two teenage girls within a certain scene, one being a bully who is presented as a stereotypical mean girl, who gossips and speaks with a low register, while the girl confronting her will avoid stereotypes and will instead be fierce and courageous.

The show will  also covers modern issues in society such as bullying, drugs, depression and etc., which would be seen as quite sensitive and taboo topics, but this would interest teenagers as they would be able to relate with what is being said and they may also benefit from the lessons learnt on the show.

  1. good ideas, you are already working on convergence. Perhaps simplify/clarify the USP?
