For this coursework we also have to create a front cover and a double page spread article to publicise our television programme in a new lifestyle magazine.
Today I will be looking at other lifestyle magazine covers to guide me in creating my own.
By Wikipedia definition: A lifestyle magazine is a popular magazine concerned with lifestyle. It includes a number of men's magazines, women's magazines and magazines about health and fitness, tourism, leisure, fashion, decorating, or culture. The concept is chiefly used in reference to a magazine's tone.
With this collage, I have presented it in a specific way. At the top there are your typical mainstream magazines which include movie stars, directors and powerful people in the media industry on the front covers. I then moved onto looking at some soap opera magazines and some British gossip mags.
I noticed the major difference between the two is that the British soaps are all about revealing some interesting information which will hopefully pull people in whereas the other mainstream ones have a higher status and are read because of their name and credibility and the people on the front covers are interesting people to read about, therefore you don't need to write much about them for people to want to read what's inside. It's like the people are the USPs whereas with the soap mags it's the stories which sell the mags.
