ITV 3 Listings

Welcome back to part 3 guys, the tv listing I will be showing you guys today is ITV3.




ITV3 has described their channel as

A home for popular classic drama series from ITV, alongside a selection of choice factual and entertainment programmes.

From looking at the programmes TV listings I noticed that they have what I believe to be a wider variety of shows from different genres. By this I mean ITV(1)ITV may show a mixture of different shows, many of the shows are factual and talk shows of some kind, the shows seem to fall into different sub-genres but at the end of the day they are still overall categorised as talk shows. 

Whereas I feel with this channel that although they have some similar shows and quite a few more fiction programmes rather than factual, I do feel as though there is a better range of different genres. We see soap operas, crime dramas, factual whatever-judge-Judy is ( like honestly what is the purpose of her show?)

However, when searching the target audience, I have also gathered that ITV3 seems to showcase shows more targeted and watched by women, typically older than 35 years.

	Murder she Wrote	7:00pm – 8:00pm	Former high school English teacher and famed mystery writer Jessica Fletcher has a gift for solving mysteries. She becomes a well-respected amateur criminologist. She often solves crimes with the aid of her friends Dr. Seth Hazlitt and Sheriff Amos Tupper.	Fiction – Crime drama	Female 40+ ITV describes target audience as upmarket A,B,C1
	Love Your Garden	4:30am – 5:25am	Alan and his team transform gardens of some truly deserving people, inspiration is taken from the most unique and beautiful gardens in the country. It's all hands on deck as friends and the local community all get involved to help build something truly special. Along the way there will be handy horticultural hints and tips to make sure everyone can have a garden to be proud of.	Factual – House Revamp	Female 30+ A,B,C1,C2

Another thing to take note of, is the slight repetition of shows for example Coronation Street is has shown on also on ITV(1) this would be because of it's popularity. This tempts me to create a show of it's kind as it's clearly well liked and shows its suited for multiple channels, this therefore seems like a good marketing scheme as your not needing to go out and look for other brilliant tv shows to broadcast, which costs lots of money, instead you can show the same shows on different channels.
