Treatment Sheet

Hey guys :)

So this post is being posted earlier than I would've wanted it to be, in regards to the fact that it's being posted before some of my research but I do need to get this up. Besides it's not an issue for me as I already know what I want to create, I have done for a while, but then writing it all out and explaining everything hasn't been my biggest cup of tea. But it's summer and I have most of the time in the world so I am going to be back on track and I will post an updated action plan so you guys will know what I am planning for the rest of the summer.

Plot Outline

A girl has died at a party, but no one know how until the medical reports come out. So there's a day where everyone come to their own conclusion because everyone either knows something or someone who knows something.

- Show begins with the friend of the victim having flash backs of the party where her friend died, the memories are good however.

- Scene moves from close-up of her face to hand-held, over the shoulder mixed with side profile view of her friend as she walks with anger and purpose as  she confronts a bully: believes they threatened her, thinks she commit suicide.

- low angle shot of bully as she's on the ground in pain from being pushed down, bully then blames boyfriend: Claims that he was abusive.

- Match on Action shot to the boyfriend: He confronts the dad, implies that he wanted his daughter gone because of the shame she brought to the family and a suicide would bring sympathy to his campaign.

- Father then reveals that daughter had died from ecstasy and then accuses boyfriend for being a bad influence and being the one to give them too her.

- A massive brawl breaks out between the boyfriend and the father, the mother screams for the sister of the girl to call the police.

- Scene ends with the sister rushing to call the police, she states what's happening then there's a close up shot and she reveals with an out pouring of emotions that she was the one to give her sister drugs for the party. While this goes on we see flashbacks of the events where she takes the drugs and then it ends with her sister crying.

- Soap's Digest
- Teen Vogue

Production Team:

- Me, Myself and I: Directing + Producing
- Cast consisting of 4 teen girls, 1 women, 1 man, 1 teen boy + some extras for party scene.

Cast:
- victim: a fairly relatable teen, only seen drunk within sequence, looks a drunken mess, dyed hair to look troublesome, most likely will be white (as well as rest of the family members)
- friend: someone from a different ethnicity, your token ethnic character in possibly the whole series.
- bully: really pretty, possibly typical blonde mean girl vibes
- boyfriend: boy next door look, hopefully tall so he can stand up to the father.
- father: will look business savvy, dressed in suit, doesn't smile, looks scary and aggressive
- mother: looks fragile, looks like her name would be Linda or Janet, powerless against the boys argument.
- Sister: older than the victim and their friends, looks more mature and stable compared to her sister.

Target Audience:

Demographics:
- Age: 16 - 30; Median viewer 25
- Gender: Typically Female
- C1,C2,E - (E being majority students)
- Education Level: GCSE's, A-level/College, Uni
- Religion: Any, Typically more atheists

- Psychographics: Mainly strugglers whom will want to be aspirers and may fake some aspects of their lives to appear as so by having trendy clothes and a seemingly put together life on social media. However, in reality they would experience life as strugglers, for example by buying alcohol, eating junk food/takeaway and complaining about costs. However, they would also try to glamorise
their struggler lifestyles as well such as the drinking and they would also go to many outrageous parties, recording almost everything in attempt to seem cool and give off the 'IDGAF' aura.

Audience Appeal:
- Includes nitty gritty drama
- Includes a mystery they may partake in solving
- Covers common and relatable issues
- Element of suspense
- Cast is close to their age
- Uses and Gratification: Escapism, although audience would know of similar problems, the programme will show the "worst case scenario" therefore they will feel like they can escape their slightly bad to something much worse. It makes people feel better about their own lives.

My inspiration for this story outline comes from:
- Coronation Street
- Gossip Girl
* More Specifically*
- EastEnders Christmas (2015, I think) episode where they found out the son killed the sister
- Any/ All Skins party scenes

Okay that's all for now folks :) Tell me what you think about my idea down below I the comments and if you have any suggestions or believe I may not be able to fit everything in (which I have considered) then please also let me know :)
